#FeedPalzy

The push for revenue from our advertisement stream has commenced.  Preparing our income statement to handle the payment structure for our graduating interns from Duquesne University is the main reason... but the slogan that is catching on like wild fire around the office is "Palzy needs fed."

A few things need to be in place before we launch the all out campaign, like the final steps to our new Novell integration.

Decisions on directions may happen at 2:30 in the morning...but implementation can take at least 6 months.

I compare it to something I heard awhile back...
Our head of programming, an avid pilot too,  once explained the transition from propeller planes to jet planes to me.

He said it all comes down to how much time you have to react to something.  In a jet plane, you must know what exact move you are going to make a step before you actually get there.  Obviously, the faster you get going,  the more powerful the plane =  the further you must look into the future of where to go and decisions to make.

In the business world, this too can be applied, but it is a hard lesson to learn.  Start-ups change directions very, very quickly.  However, there comes a time when you realize you are leagues ahead of where you were years ago when we were flying our "propeller plane".  Our product keeps taking stronger, faster, and more powerful forms (from outside and from inside).    We may not have our Jet Pilots license just yet...but we sure are close.

mansion in the sky...

It has become quite evident that product and brand advertising for national companies is the key to extreme growth.  Within 6 months, we feel our main revenue source will not be service fees for businesses.  It will be our capability of targeted advertisements for the brands we all know.

I had a dream last night....

It was set 1 year from now...

A sign was hanging above a mansion in the sky that read...

"GoNextWorld
Free for Consumers,
Free for Merchants,
Not free for Advertisers with deep pockets

Coca-Cola and/or Pepsi, call us at 1-800-976-7924  Ext 1. "

Fear of....

Due to Halloween approaching, my brain releases a higher than usual amount of Dopamine.

As long as I can remember, I have always been into Halloween.  The more I find out about myself, the more things start to make sense.

The first movie I ever saw happened only a few days after I left McGee Hospital as an infant.  Being less than a week old, my mom took me to see Ghostbusters.  I believe from then on, I was hooked with the fascination of Ghost stories....and of course, Bill Murray movies.

Haunted Houses, Scary Movies, and Halloween Stores are all about keeping you on the edge of your seat.  Hell, I even dated a girl that I met at a Halloween store for awhile for the plain fact that she worked there (and reminded me of Avril Lavigne a bit)...

And I think my love of Halloween has something to do with that feeling of anticipation for that next surprise thats waiting for you right around the corner -   I love it.

October is the month of surprises and we at GoNextWorld do not want to disappoint.

After a late night workout, the realization of GoNextWorld not being able to reach some of the most influential companies like Coca-Cola, Pepsi, and Honda hit me.  So, after speaking with our head of Programming on Sunday, we are commencing Targeted Ad space within our mobile website for people and ideas like the aforementioned companies.  It should be ready by 1st or 2nd Quarter of 2013.

Want to advertise to a target audience?  Contact Sales at 412-481-6988.

On the subject of surprises, we know its time to step outside of Pittsburgh and start shaking hands with some restauranteurs across the U.S.  So, preparation for the Vegas Expo in March is underway.

Four years ago this October, I was sitting in a supermarket, trying to find a way out of my job and thinking about vegas.

Today, we are planning a trip to Vegas FOR my job.

Once there are no more surprises, life becomes a little too stale.  And that is my fear.

We at GoNextWorld won't let that happen.  October is the month of surprises...

stay tuned boys and ghouls...

where eagles dare, a short story

When I got into owning rental property at the age of 23, many people thought I was insane.  My family had never owned rental property and none of my friends were into it, but I knew it was the place to start.  My mentor, a successful entrepreneur, expressed how important it was to start creating wealth through real estate.  So, I went for it.

Everyone around me thought it was crazy...except one - - a friend that believed in what the mentor said too.

We went to the FREE Rich Dad Poor Dad Seminars,  he went and got his real estate license too, he was willing to do something that took guts - go against what everyone else called "the norm".

That was over 3 years ago.

This past weekend, he sold the property he bought back in 2009.

He put no money down....he made over $1,000 a month in cashflow...and then sold the place for a profit of $40,000.  Not many people get to cash a check of $40,000.  Sounds like one of those infomercials on tv at 4am doesnt it?  Well, he did it.

It just took risk and sacrifice. and he deserves a big congrats for making it happen.

Sometimes the story only makes sense when you read the ending...

Pi Sigma Epsilon discussion

Yesterday, I was fortunate enough to talk to some of the students from the Pi Sigma Epsilon business fraternity at Duquesne University.

Every time I step back on Duquesne's campus, I am reminded of my life as a student there, events like the infamous Graffiti Dance, and what life was like when I tried to fly under the radar.

When I was asked speak to some of the students, I started thinking about what I could say that would A) Keep them awake, and B) what I could say to help them figure out their own path.  So, what I thought would be best would be to tell them a short story of my adventures in Sales, Marketing, and Business and a few things I have learned through many mistakes.  And at the end, maybe they might be able to use some of the lessons learned for their own adventure…or they might want to join us (GNW) in our pursuit of changing the world.

But in the end, there was one message I feel it all comes down to -

Try MANY things and see what works for you.  There is not just ONE set of ways to accomplish your mission.  And life wouldn't be too fun if there was just 1.

Even if you do not work for GNW, try something where you have some freedom to try new things.  Small companies and Start-ups provide freedom.
The world is a noisy place.  In comparison to a big company, for a startup, its more important to be cleverly simple..than just clever.  This is what you learn on a bottom dollar budget.
When you are starting something from nothing, there are no rules.  I compare it to a street fight and we must do whatever it takes.  It really gets you to think in ways that are completely unconventional....  And that’s what we are looking for - Thinkers, Doers, creative minds that are willing to try new things.

Life outside of college is a crazy ride and if you love what you do, you will never want it to end.

Here is a video from the Pittsburgh Irish Fesitval created by our Marketing Director Amelia Cimerola.  She is one of the perfect examples of someone that knows the value of trying new things and importance of having fun in order to accomplish a mission.

nothing else matters...

For as long as I can remember, September has always been a month full of adjustments.  But this year is a bit different.  On top of all the normal changes, there is one that we are not accustomed to - the change from just Surviving... to Providing.

One of the darker sides of chasing the dream is what the word "surviving"  entails.  This involves giving up all the norms that seem to be staples in society.  It means going back to the very basics and doing WHATEVER IT TAKES to live one more day.

Then, all of a sudden, you look in the mirror and realize that you are no longer afraid of "death".  Purely surviving for years has given you the confidence that help you see that no matter what happens, you can problem solve the issue and move on. The once-assumed 'BIG' issues seem very small now.

This is the moment you realize its time to focus less on surviving and more on to providing.

For GNW, the awkward tween years are over.  The frustration of watching the sun rise and fall (from inside our garage) has pushed our mentality to where it needs to be. Its now about doing WHATEVER IT TAKES to provide (hopefully outside).

This is the one of the brighter sides of chasing the dream...

living to run and running to live...

If you have been reading my blog, you know by now that simplicity is the theme this month.

Last night as I weighed the pros and cons of moving into my building and making it my humble abode, some things started to make sense.
The feeling of balance and stability clears the head.  For something to work, the system must be complete...at work and in your personal life.

I know this now.

On the weekends, I feel im ready to set some time aside to finish working on my project car, its time to relive some experiences I let go to help GNW get rolling, and its time to complete the system.  A clearer head leads to simplicity.    A clearer heads leads to finishing the mission.

When one tries to reach too far, it knocks them off balance.  Finding the direction and balance again is euphoria.

The story of startup business' life is that they always feel a day late and dollar short.

As we evolve, its truly exciting to feel ahead of the game...

the peacemaker...

As we work through this month, we acknowledge the fact of where we are going and what we will be doing this year.  This upcoming year is about pushing harder than we have ever pushed before.  Its about simplicity.  Its about focus. Its about narrowing our efforts on a specific clientele.

When I was younger, I once thought a number like $100,000 was an extreme amount of money.  In the beginning of this adventure, we said things like "With $100,000, we could change the world".  If you have ever started a business, you know that statements like this are signs of being naive.

So, where are we going this year?

Well, I don't want to spoil the story just yet, but one day this year, our team will be sitting down in a nice clean boardroom with another group of believers, and without batting an eye or blushing red, we are going to ask for AT LEAST a 1 million dollar investment.

The confidence in the product for the October/November release is so high, we may ask for more...

Like I said before, one of the best things about a lean and effective product is the adventure it will lead to...

The World's Most Universal Rewards Program

Approximately 25,000 people were expected to be at the Irish Festival this weekend.  This was a perfect stage to see what works and what doesnt work when it comes to clearly communicating our business to a person that will give us 4.5 seconds of their attention.

To be honest, we need to clearly communicate our business to the average person in less than 1 second.  This is easy for businesses that build/sell lamps, home remodel, and sell tickets.  A person can walk by and know what they do without asking questions.  But when they see something new and different like GoNextWorld, it does not pop up on their radar.

To combat this, we must simplify.  Like I said in a previous blog, this is the month of simplifying everything.

GoNextWorld Rewards - The World's Most Universal Rewards Program.

Dont worry, we are still going to keep the creative spirit alive, but it will be aimed towards other sectors of the company.

As the block of ice is chiseled down to a piece of art, our focus narrows.

Its more clear than ever what it takes to break through the target before we really can open the wings and let the world know what GoNextWorld can do.

Tonight, to celebrate some of the recent accomplishments, our affiliate, Summit Computer Networks and some of the GoNextWorld team is going to the Rush concert.  Its time to let the hair down and have some fun.  I can't wait...
