For the past few weeks, I have been toying with some new ideas on how to introduce our company to potential new team members in the upcoming few months.
After Phase 2 launches and depending on the phone support that we may need, it may be time to start bringing more players through the curtain.
The question is: How do we show them who we are and what we are looking for?
We are not looking for the average worker simply trying to collect a paycheck. They must have the GoNextWorld vision.
Do we simply sit them down for a 15 minute interview as any other company does?
I don't think so. If they are uncomfortable in any way, it will change their true behavior; Ultimately destroying the purpose of the interview.
Do we play the 1980's board game "Battleship" ?
Maybe. This will bring out the personality a bit more, but it still will not effectively show the true goal of the company. It is a phenomenal game though.
Do we put them in a 7 foot Beagle Mascot Costume and join them as they attend hospitals, events, and random people on the streets, giving out "Keep Moving Forward" necklaces, wristbands, stuffed animals and other pick-me-ups?
Yes, I think so. Or maybe something similar to this. This will show them that every team member is directly or indirectly the face of the company. When they are working or not working, they always represent the company; More importantly - what the company stands for. To be able to see the true vision, the end goal, and the expressions on people's faces first hand...is pure magic.
Then, the small day to day objectives will all make sense when they see what we will someday accomplish...
