Fighting the daily rough waters and unexpected rocks that a startup business somehow gets used to, its sometimes difficult to gauge how far we've actually come. Well, my friends, it only takes a flash from the past to make you see that A LOT can happen in 3 years.

Back story -
3 years ago, the Next World was just a twinkle in our eyes. We had tons of ideas, energy, and determination, but no direction. Until we figured out the next step, I was trying everything and anything to make money, save money, and to find out what is worth risking the next 10 years (or more) to accomplish.
I got a job with an entertainment company that did everything from setting up the largest corporate events to private events (like the party in Meet Joe Black)
One of the big events was for a law firm. As a young guy with an $11 dollar haircut, I was slightly intimidated. Jeff Jimerson's band was one of the performers, so you know it was good. I was in charge of the train rides (sort of like the picture above without tracks)
As I was taking families on the rides, I remember contemplating where GoNextWorld was heading. We had thousands of ideas, but we realized there was only enough sand in the hour glass to go after a few. The fact was, we did not know. It was an uncertain time. However, the sense of wonder if we CAN do it outweighed the feeling of fear. Direction comes from knowing the business' core values. We did not know this yet.

Yesterday, I helped out at an event for that entertainment company I used to work for a few years back. Its been over two years since I've seen some of the my friends from there and that brought back some memories. I started to think about all that has happened between then (the law firm event) and now. It is incredible. And yes, we now know our core values.***
Through a few coincidences unrelated to that day, we eventually hired that exact law firm to represent GoNextWorld.
Its amazing to think of what can happen in such a short amount of time. I can't wait for 3 years from now.
