time to go to work

Put it up on jacks and pulled the wheels off.  Vacuumed out the interior just to make me feel a little better - Palzy wasn't too happy with the vacuum.  Started to clean up the inside and the motor.  Removed the oil drain plug and found there was no oil to drain - NOT GOOD.  The valves did not look too bad, but the covers were not tightened, which scares me a little bit.  I have to prepare the garage with more lighting, tools and heat before the real work can begin.  The next step is to remove the exhaust and also see if the engine can turn by hand.  Gas tank, brake lines, gas lines, carburetor, and armor all is on the list....stay tuned kids

2V Carburetor

I realized my first objective is to find a carburetor, 2V, that was originally on it.  I've started asking around and I will be pulling the trigger on the one on ebay soon if a cheaper one doesn't come into sight.  Interior cleaning is a must, but a quick vacuum is instant gratification.  Pictures are coming this weekend.

Step 1 - The Vision

Tucked the car into the garage.  Began research to see what it should look like upon completion and an estimation of time.  Discovered it is the 302 coupe and started to talk to gear heads on what are the next steps.  The first step - a vision of what it will look like (seen above).   Estimated Time - 3 years

The day it came home...

January 11th, 2012 - Picked it up in Evans City, PA in the pouring rain.  Transported it to Pittsburgh and unloaded it.  It took 3 guys pushing, 1 guy driving it up the narrow driveway.  Did I mention it was up a hill and it had no brakes?  For now, she waits...

How it did look and how it WILL look again...

Pictures are dated 1991

January 7th, 2012

January 7th, 2012-
After locating the car, my cousin finally brought it back to his house.  Ever since I was 7,  I wanted a car just like it.  Therefore, I offered to buy it from him and vowed to bring it back to life.  He accepted.

The History

History -
In 1991, when I was 7 years old, my cousin bought a 1969 BOSS 302 Mustang (seen above). I took one ride in it and fell in love with it immediately.

In 1992, the car was in an accident.  It would not be seen again for 20 years.
